Ending support for phone call ads (only ads that generate phone calls).
To continue generating phone call leads, you need to start using phone elements in responsive search ads.
What is changing?
Phone call ads are being replaced by responsive search ads with phone elements. Responsive search ads (RSAs) work with Google’s AI systems and automatically test ad combinations.Important Dates:
February 2026:
All of the new ad creation options that only generate phone calls will be removed.February 2027:
Existing ads that only generate phone calls will no longer receive impressions.
Why are Click-to-Call Campaigns Not Opening?
Because Google no longer supports this advertising model.
From February 2026:
- You will not be able to open new click-to-call campaigns
- Existing campaigns will not be able to compete
- Click costs will increase dramatically
